As with all northern animals, these creatures have double fluffy coat of white or cream color; the undercoat is dense and the outer coat is longer and stand-off. The ears should be triangular and erect; the eyes are small and black; blue eyes are disqualified.

These small creatures present a picture of agility and strength, beauty and alertness. They come in three varieties: standard (15-19 inches at the withers), miniature (12-15 inches) and toy (9-12 inches). These varieties differ in size only, and have the same temperament and instincts.
